Yes We Can!

I think, for several reasons, Tyler and I are more excited about this election than past elections. Conversations with the Carters, subscriptions to Newsweek and the New York Observer, and a general coming of age are some of those reasons.

In the words of my friend, Kyle,
"Watch this and be inspired.

Regardless of your feelings on the upcoming election, regardless of your feelings about political parties, and regardless of your feelings about our country's current place in the world: this video will seriously reach you. Unless you are heartless. Or ignorant."

If you can't view the video get a Mac or click here.

I'm relatively noncommittal when it comes to politics, since I usually don't like any of the choices. I'm leaning towards Obama, though, because it seems like he--more than any other candidate--has the potential to inspire this kind of hopefulness in an incredibly cynical nation. We'll see what happens on Tuesday...

Guess I must be both heartless AND ignorant...Obama still pisses me off and makes me want to punch him in the face. Sorry.

I think this post is really funny because I can't see the video. All I see is a blank box under your post that disappears into the background when I click on it. I think that inspires me more than any politician ever will.

:)

I'm not voting. Do you hate me? I don't like anybody...they all have problems with their philosophies that I can't support. Ah, such a crappy thing, having to choose the lesser of the evils. So I choose not to choose. Thank God for checks and balances.

Thanks, love. You're the best (though you might really be mad when you read my blog re: the Patriots!)!

I miss you (and wish I could trade the snow with you...we're getting slammed with it this year...ranking in the top 10 of snowiest years!)! Love you, and thank you for caring re: politics!

Also, I'm not really a bandwagon type of girl. :)

And lastly...your picture is so unbelievably and fabulously gorgeous. Almost as gorgeous as you in real life! :) (but, seriously, I do miss seeing you in real life!)

i like to imagine that my path of "voting at 18 didn't get my guy in, didn't vote at 22, vote at 26 for the guy i wanted to when i was 18" isn't being traveled only by myself.

i know only 1 guy mentioned names, but if its a mccain/obama presidential race, i will be greatly looking forward to it (minimal mud slinging/dirty politiking).
